Scholarship Overview
At least one scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to an outstanding student who is pursuing a career in agriculture. Fields of study may include, beef production, ag education, ag communications, ag studies, ag production, ag research or any other area involved with the agricultural industry. The purpose of this program is to identify and encourage young talented students who want to purse a career in Agriculture as a leader in the industry. 
Scholarship funds will be awards to student after completion of their first semester of college.
The top scholarship applicant will be awarded a paid three year membership to the Iowa Cattlemen's Association. 
Conditions of Eligibility
Applicants must be a graduating high school senior.
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to a career in the agricultural industry through classes, internships, or life experiences. 
Points are awarded for applicant's parent(s)/guardian(s) who are member of the Jones County/Iowa Cattlemen's Association. 
Applicants must be enrolled as an undergraduate student in a two or four-year institution of higher education for the entire 2020-2021 academic year. Proof of enrollment as a full-time student will be required to receive the scholarship money. 
Judging Procedure 
All applicants received will be handled as follows: applicants names will be removed, applications will be forwareded to cattlemen's judging committee outside of Jones County, and will be evaluated soley on the criteria outlined on the application.
