Welcome YPS Amey Kollar

Welcome YPS Amey Kollar

Amey Kollar has been hired as the new Youth Program Specialist in the South Field. She will serve the counties of Iowa and Johnson beginning May 18.

Amey served as a Program Associate for Johnson County Extension since 2014, and through that role she had the opportunity to coordinate two afterschool clubs serving middle school youth, a partnership between 4-H and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Prior to her work with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Amey was the High School Coordinator of a private school in South Dakota.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and an Elementary Education license from the University of Northern Colorado.

Amey is passionate about her new role with 4-H Youth Development and said, “I have experienced for myself that ISU Extension and Outreach is full of compassionate, hard-working visionaries, and it is a dream come true to be part of a team who is taking action on bettering the lives of our youth and families. It is a privilege to serve and support the dedicated 4-H staff in our counties as well as help develop and maintain meaningful relationships with our community partners.”

Please take some time to welcome Amey and congratulate her on her new role.
