2020 McNutt 4-H & Rotary Scholarship Recipients

Johnson County 4-H reaches over 4000 youth annually in its numerous education programs.   4-H community clubs are just one of the many aspects of 4-H which is delivered by Iowa State university Extension and Outreach in Johnson County.   We are pleased to share with you the 2020 McNutt 4-H Rotary Scholarship recipients.

Brooklyn Curtin

Brooklyn Curtin is the daughter of Travis and Mindy Curtin of Oxford, Iowa. During high school Brooklyn has been actively involved in the National Honor Society for 2 years and FFA for 4 years serving as Treasurer and President. Outside of school Brooklyn has been actively involved in the IJBBA, Iowa Junior Maine Association, Cosgrove Hustlers 4-H, and the American Chianina Association. Her involvement in these activities has allowed her to developed a passion for the cattle industry, showing cattle and youth agriculture. Brooklyn plans to attend Iowa State University and major in Ag Education with a completion of the teaching program and a minor in Ag Business. After college should would like to become an Ag Teacher.

 

Natalie Young

Natalie Young is the daughter of Rich and Susan Young. During her years in 4-H, Natalie has served as the treasurer, vice president, and president of her club, the Sharon Center Sensations. For the past three years, she has been a member of the Johnson County 4-H Youth Council, working to plan and host educational events, fundraisers, and community service projects for the county. She is currently serving as the president of the council. Throughout highschool, Natalie has been involved in West High Volleyball, National Honor Society, competitive club volleyball, and was chosen as a National Merit Finalist. This fall, Natalie will be attending Iowa State University to double major in Biological Systems Engineering and Animal Science with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. She plans to focus on environmental sustainability and the animal production industry.
