Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Wapello County is seeking an AmeriCorps Service member to serve as the Maker Space Coordinator.
The successful candidate will be professional, dependable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate excellent teaching skills, have attention to detail, and the ability to work with youth, community members, and staff. Required qualifications include HS degree, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation, ability to pass background check and to lift 35 pounds. This is a 900-hour position. Ideally, the AmeriCorps Member will serve 15-20 hours/week for 12 months, but the specific schedule and length of the position is flexible.
- Must be U.S. citizen or U.S. national or a lawful permanent resident alien of the U.S.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED or agree to obtain one before using the education award.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Service members earn an annual living allowance and receive a post-service education award to finance higher education or pay towards qualified student loans after they complete their hours. Additionally, AmeriCorps members may apply for education loan forbearance during their term of service. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and occasionally attend out-of-town trainings.
