Objective

Story County Extension is searching for a creative and energetic educator to fill the position of Agriculture and Natural Resources Outreach Coordinator.  The coordinator will work with a team of staff and volunteers to plan and implement agricultural, natural resource and horticultural education and volunteer service program in Story County, within the land grant mission of Iowa State University. The coordinator facilitates classes, organizes special program committees, and implements agricultural, natural resource and horticultural related events for the public to demonstrate community impact. In addition, the coordinator will seek beneficial partnerships to engage citizens in education in areas related to these topics.

Responsibilities

Ability to coordinate research-based education to meet measurable outcomes; lead volunteers and partner to collaborative results in response to community needs; utilize a variety of communication styles and modalities; delegate tasks and coordinate volunteer efforts; work independently, and as a team with office staff and community partners. 

Qualifications

Minimum AA college education with 2 years’ experience in one or more areas of position description, or bachelor’s degree in one or more areas of position description.

Additional Information

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week.  Regular office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with occasional evening or weekend work.
