Iowa AmeriCorps 4-H Outreach
- Engage youth in research-based educational opportunities that promote skill development in preparation for higher educational pursuits and careers in technical fields of study.

Career Pathways Academy:
The proposed 4-H Career Pathways Academy AmeriCorps Members will work with the 4-H program development staff to build relationships with rising 8-12th grade youth participating in the 4-H Career Pathways Academy. Members will serve as local mentors and points of contact for the youth participating in the program. Members will be trained to facilitate college and career readiness educational programming for youth participants during monthly engagement sessions to be held on the Iowa State campus and in local communities across Iowa with the youth. Members will work closely with campus-based 4-H youth development specialists as well as local county youth coordinators and field-based specialists to build relationships and coordinate programming. An applicant with knowledge and experiences working with marginalized youth audiences is preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- At least 17 years of age
- U.S. citizen
- Experience working with youth in grades 8-12
- Experience developing or delivering youth programs

The AmeriCorps 4-H Program Provides:
- Service term runs through Summer 2024. Positions are part-time, flexible work hours. Some travel is required.
- Total living allowance-$4500, post-service education award $1,824.07.
- Reimbursement for travel expenses and program supplies as part of the member’s service for the host-site. AmeriCorps-required training and travel is paid for by the program.
- Access to the AmeriCorps national service network and associated trainings and conferences.
