Objective

To provide excellent customer service using Extension materials and resources.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients by phone, email, or walk-in.
  • Assist county-paid staff and specialists with program execution and day to day office function.
  • Fulfill the duties of assistant bookkeeper.
  • Manage volunteer records and background screenings as required in risk management policies.
  • Use standard policies and procedures regarding county business operations and council relations.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff and clients in the county.
  • Oversee equipment supplies and inventory balances.
  • Manage continuing education for commercial and private pesticide applicators, including scheduling of training sessions.
  • Manage continuing education for manure management trainings for commercial and confinement applicators.
  • Communicate information to council members, including meeting agendas, financial reports and other important items as directed.
  • Assist county youth coordinator with 4-H and youth program events, when needed.
  • Work with the marketing coordinator to maintain a high level of marketing and visibility for all programs including websites and social media channels.
  • Continually develop and enhance relevant skills and understand current professional standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree or two years of office management experience
  • Professional office experience
  • Bookkeeping experience

SUPERVISOR: Regional Director Greta Giese and the Osceola County Extension Council

ABOUT THE POSITION

This position requires 32-40 hours of work each week, with typical daily office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Occasional evening, Friday, and weekend hours will be required, such as during the Osceola County Fair and for other programs.

Starting pay $19/hour (plus benefits), negotiable based on education and experience.
