Supports the operation of the Muscatine County Extension Office, ensuring needs are met effectively and efficiently. Position is responsible for leading youth activities, assist in the planning and execution of the Muscatine County Fair, and performing general receptionist and clerical duties The ideal candidate would be able to work independently or on a team, is a self-starter/problem solver with a passion for education and youth
- This position will focus on summer youth programing such as day camps. Logistic staff person for all summer camp programs
- The position duties will include but are not limited to assisting in planning and organizing events, county fair assistance, answering phones, data entry and general office assignments.
- Flexibility in pitching in where needed and the ability to be a team player are required.
- Temporary position for 12 weeks with flexible start date, and ending no later than mid - August 2023 (schedule can be flexible)
- Access to reliable transportation, valid driver license
- Successful completion of Child Protection and Safety Program/background screening
- Ability to keep accurate records and communicate effectively
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook email and Microsoft Office programs
- Available during the entire Muscatine County Fair (July 17-23) with ability to work extended hours as needed during fair week
- Maintaining a close working relationship with staff, volunteers, and partners
- Move and lift at least 40 pounds
- 4-H background preferred but not required.
- High School Graduate
