Objective

Provide academic coaching to youth involved in the Salir Adelante program and assist the Latino Outreach Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic coaching (review grades, work on study skills, connect to needed resources) in small groups or one-on-one in the school setting to middle school or high school youth 
  • Keep accurate records of academic coaching goals and outcomes
  • Maintain regular contact with parents/caregivers and encourage their involvement in their youth’s learning
  • Assist with family night and afterschool club activities
  • Chaperone youth trips
  • Assist in data collection
  • Perform other duties as assigned related to Latino Outreach Program
Qualifications
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish in oral and written communication
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • History of working with middle school or high school aged youth
  • The ability to work with persons from various backgrounds and cultures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, MS Excel, Internet and E-mail applications
  • Access to reliable transportation, valid driver license and access to a motor vehicle are required
  • Be approved through required background screening
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
