The summer intern is responsible for providing assistance to county staff in the areas of programming, customer service, and public relations/marketing. This position is temporary (June 1 to August 18, 2023) part time (approximately 400 hours) under the supervision of the Program Coordinator. What follows is the basic job description, other duties may be assigned.
- Gather and organize STEM/Day Camp materials
- Assist in delivering STEM/Day Camp summer programming as needed
- Report any safety problems or issues immediately to supervisor
- Aid in preparation for 2023 fair education activities/camps
- Accurately enter county fair data into provided excel spreadsheets
- Assist with youth leadership activities
- Attend and assist with Intern Connect program (if program is available in 2023)
- Answer office phone and assist walk-in clientele as needed
- Provide educational opportunity with community partners
- 18 or older
- Currently enrolled in a higher education program working toward a degree in education, communication, agriculture, or related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and prompt
- Experience working with children and knowledge of child development
- Pleasant personality, eagerness to work with children
- Good customer service skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
