• Assist in planning and implementation of many camps/workshops through the summer.
• Assist with preparation and implementation of county fair.
• Assist with preparation of exhibits for Iowa State Fair.
• Recruitment of and correspondence with county fair helpers.
• Assist in general office duties, including answering phones, making copies, handling walk-in clientele and light cleaning/organizing.
• Provide pre and post event publicity via newspapers, radio, direct mail and personal contact.
• Assist staff with preparation of material for youth programs.
• Provide staff reports to the Kossuth County Extension Council
• Take part in the Kossuth & Palo Alto County Economic Development Summer Intern Program.

• Minimum one year of college completed (would consider 2024 high school graduate based on experience and qualifications)
• Interest in working with youth
• Experience as a member or volunteer in the 4-H program is desirable
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to youth and adults
• Ability to work with office equipment and computer programs
• Experience in working with groups and leading group activities
• Responsible, dependable, and good organizational skills
• Preference to candidates with knowledge of Kossuth County
• Access to transportation and a valid driver’s license
• Must pass child protection safety screening process
• Ability to lift 40 pounds

• Period of employment is May - August 2024 (dates TBD)
• Work hours will generally fall between Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm and Friday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm, with some evening and weekend hours as scheduled
