- Organize materials and activities for summer youth programs for 5-12 year old youth.
- Conduct educational activities at the selected sites in Jackson County.
- Supervise children in program and ensure their safety.
- Attend in-service training when necessary.
- Submit records of program participation, program evaluations, wage and mileage reports, as required by supervisor.
- Perform fair related tasks as requested by County Extension Staff.
- Maintain regular contact with site coordinators and ISU Extension Youth Program Specialist.
- Provide on-site program leadership for summer programs.
- Purchase supplies.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- High school diploma. Education beyond preferred.
- Any combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge and ability can be acquired which totals one year.
- Demonstrated interest and ability to work with youth.
- Demonstrated responsibility and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate with youth, parents, and Extension professionals.
Temporary Summer Positions; May 30, 2023 - August 4, 2023 (tentative).
Summer Program Coordinator (1): 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, mileage reimbursement when on official business.
Summer Program Assistant (2): 20-30 hours/week, Monday-Friday, mileage reimbursement when on official business.
