Plan and facilitate educational programming consistent with the objectives of the Hardin County Extension Council, and in harmony with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
- Facilitates county extension programming, enhances county extension partnerships, and addresses client requests for technical assistance
- Plans, markets and implements research-based programming based on county needs with direction fromthe extension council, programming committee and regional director
- Provides programming management and oversight in collaboration with program specialists
- Maintains and enhances county Extension partnerships and develops partnerships with key stakeholder groups by serving as the face of ISU Extension and Outreach locally
- Actively seeks out needs in the county and adopts strategies to remain progressive and attentive to the needs of Hardin County while striving to offer programs to underserved audiences
- Evaluates and reports outcomes and impacts to councils, stakeholders, and ISU Extension and Outreach
- Manages local data collection in line with program area requirements and inputs into MyData system
- Works with the Office Director to manage project budgets and secure resources to support county extension programming
- Represents Hardin County Extension professionally and positively
- Develops a program of work and attends county, regional and state training as needed
- Supports and initiates strategies to develop volunteer networks
- Effectively communicates with clientele of all ages and backgrounds
- Reports to council at scheduled meetings on county extension programs, partnership activities, and response to clients
- Associates degree
- Five + years of work experience
- Content knowledge in at least one field: agriculture and natural resources, human sciences, youth development, community and economic development
- Strong written and oral skills
- Computer (including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Teams, etc.), organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Team player and people oriented
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to travel and access to dependable transportation with proof of vehicle liability coverage
- Bachelor's degree
- Bilingual; fluent in a second language
- Experience organizing events and activities
- Teaching or facilitation experience
- Experience working with governing boards, councils, and community groups
