Provide planning, management and implementation of all Hardin County youth and 4-H activities, while growing programming in the area of youth and family outreach.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to advance the Iowa 4-H mission and vision
- Communicates effectively and builds relationships with the county extension council, youth, families, volunteers, fair board, other extension staff and community partners
- Creates partnerships in schools and the community
- Coordinates extension's roles and responsibilities at the Hardin County Fair
- Promotes and markets youth state and county programs, events, and activities, including preparing the 4-H family newsletter
- Develops and implements a year-round county recruitment and retention strategy to bring diverse youth from entry-point activities into long-term involvement in 4-H
- Collects, analyzes, and shares county data to ensure program effectiveness
- Works with the Office Director to manage project budgets and secure resources to support county extension programming
- Advises and holds meetings with county 4-H council, youth committee, club and project leaders, and volunteers
- Represents Hardin County Extension professionally and positively
- Develops a program of work and attends county, regional and state training as needed
- Assures compliance with risk management policies, including required training and background checks of volunteers
- Plans and coordinates National Volunteer Week and National 4-H Week events and activities
- Coordinates local and state 4-H awards participation and the annual county 4-H awards banquet
- Coordinates market animal weigh-ins
- Prepares information for youth exhibiting at the state fair, and coordinates delivery of static exhibits to state fair
- Orders and maintains a current inventory of 4-H materials and supplies
- Coordinates other 4-H/youth activities and duties as assigned
