Assist in planning and implementation of many camps/workshops through the summer.
Assist with preparation and implementation of county fair.
Assist with preparation of exhibits for Iowa State Fair.
Recruitment of and correspondence with county fair helpers.
Assist in general office duties, including answering phones, making copies, handling walk-in clientele and light cleaning/organizing.
Provide pre and post event publicity via newspapers, radio, direct mail and personal contact.
Assist staff with preparation of material for youth programs.
Provide staff reports to the Hancock County Extension Council
Interest in working with youth
Experience as a member or volunteer in the 4-H program is desirable
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to youth and adults
Ability to work with office equipment and computer programs
Experience in working with groups and leading group activities
Responsible, dependable, and good organizational skills
Preference to candidates with knowledge of Hancock County
Access to transportation and a valid driver’s license
Must pass child protection safety screening process
Flexible hours, up to 30 hours per week from June 1 – mid-August.
Depending on experience and qualifications.
Reimbursement for work related travel and other expenses while on the job.
Some weekend and evening hours.
