Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementation of many camps/workshops through the summer.
- Assist with preparation and implementation of county fair.
- Assist with preparation of exhibits for Iowa State Fair.
- Recruitment of and correspondence with county fair helpers.
- Assist in general office duties, including answering phones, making copies, handling walk-in clientele and light cleaning/organizing.
- Provide pre and post event publicity via newspapers, radio, direct mail and personal contact.
- Assist staff with preparation of material for youth programs.
- Provide staff reports to the Hancock County Extension Council
Qualifications
- Interest in working with youth
- Experience as a member or volunteer in the 4-H program is desirable
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing to youth and adults
- Ability to work with office equipment and computer programs
- Experience in working with groups and leading group activities
- Responsible, dependable, and good organizational skills
- Preference to candidates with knowledge of Hancock County
- Access to transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Must pass child protection safety screening process
Additional Information
- Flexible hours, up to 30 hours per week from June 1 – mid-August.
- Depending on experience and qualifications.
- Reimbursement for work related travel and other expenses while on the job.
- Some weekend and evening hours.
