Responsibilities

Prepare and implement all major components of the school year and summer Clover Kid educational opportunities to reach 50-75 youth, including marketing, selecting appropriate 4-H curriculum, gathering supplies, securing workshop facilitators, and program evaluation. 

Volunteer recruitment, coordination, and support for K-3rd grade Clover Kids program. Assure compliance with risk management policies, including required training and background checks of volunteers and club chartering. 

Recruit 2-4 new community volunteers to assist with 4-H and Clover Kid Clubs. Maintain all records related to volunteer service, and plan volunteer recognition. 

Serve on a team that provides outreach and education for 4-H events, including marketing, recruitment, event coordination and evaluation. 

Build capacity in the 4-H SWITCH program by co-leading in partnership with the Charles City School District to focus on youth development opportunities for program engagement, leadership, community partnerships, and service for 100 5th graders within the district.. 

As part of the Floyd Co. 4-H/Youth team, participate in professional development opportunities including monthly 4-H Webinars, Clover Kids Webinars, and the annual YouthFest Conference that focus on nonprofit programming, budgeting, youth engagement, community partnership cooperation, and developing leadership skills. 

Respond to community, family, and partner needs and requests. 

Actively participate in data collection and management of programming data. 

This position has access to vulnerable populations. 

Qualifications

High school graduate or the equivalent

United States Citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident

Member must be 18 years of age

Proficiency in computer techology, including word processing, database and email

Experience with youth, 4-H, and/or Extension programming

Successful completion of the Child Protection Background Screening

 

Preferred Qualifications

College graduate or current student

Experience working with diverse backgrounds

Experience with event coordination
