Responsibilities

The Office Assistant works to support the goals of the County Extension Council through customer service, supporting the work of the County Extension Program Director (CD), Regional Director (RD), County Youth Coordinator (CYC), K-12 Youth Education Coordinator, and field specialists, and completing the bookkeeping operations. Working with the CD and RD, the Office Assistant is responsible for the daily fiscal operations of all the Delaware County Agricultural Extension District’s funds. 

Qualifications
  1. Associate degree in office management or related field or three years of related experience.
  2. Experience in bookkeeping and payroll procedures with ability to complete scheduled tasks on time.  Experience with public funds preferred.
  3. People oriented individual, skilled in customer relations, and willing to be a team player.  Must be able to work in a group effort.
  4. Communication skills of listening, questioning, and speaking.
  5. Problem solving skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks.
  6. Advanced computer literacy required. Experience with MS Office – specifically MS Word, Excel, and Outlook or other e-mail program. Experience with GP Dynamics accounting system preferred.
  7. Familiarity with basic office equipment necessary to run a professional office.

  • Mileage for use of personal vehicle in the performance of approved duties will be paid at the current Delaware County travel allowance rate.
