4-H Food Stand Prep Cook - Morning

The 4-H Food Stand Prep-Cook will work under the day-to-day supervision of the 4-H Food Stand Manager(s) to help prepare and cook food that is served in the 4-H Food Stand. The 4-H Food Stand is a fundraiser during the Boone County Fair. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Boone County Extension County Director. Duties will include:

  1. Coordinate with Boone County ISU Extension Staff and 4-H Food Stand Manager(s) to prepare and cook food served in the 4-H Food Stand during the hours of 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM from July 17th – July 21st. Hours can be flexible.
  2. Ensure all food safety measures are being met including keeping food safety certification up to date and meeting with food inspector when they arrive.
  3. Provide feedback to program coordinator following fair on the issues and successes of the food stand.
  4. Other duties as assigned by 4-H Food Stand Manager.
  1. High school graduate
  2. 18 years or older
  3. 1+ year(s) experience in food service as an employee or volunteer
  4. Ability to communicate, lead and manage both youth and adults
  5. Knowledge of current food safety practices, Certification preferred
  6. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
  7. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background screening

Part-time (6:00 AM – 1:30 PM daily) Hours can be flexible and more hours might be available. Wednesday, July 17 through Sunday, July 21. May have the opportunity to renew position for the following year.
