Objective

This position provides assistance to Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Audubon County and is under the supervision of the Extension Council. Duties will be varied each day. Major job responsibilities are outlined below, but will include additional items as necessary.

Responsibilities

Receptionist/Client First Contact

            Answer telephone, greet front door clientele----provide information or provide referral

            Reserve meeting room, record on calendar, arrange for key pick-up

            Record equipment/programs/resources for check-out

            Make copies, faxes, sell items/bulletins, and record receipts

Clerical

            Record all financial transactions in receipt book

            Prepare mailings of 4-H newsletter, county fair letters and meeting notices

Organizational

            Help prepare all materials and supplies for summer programs, including county fair.

            Prepare county fair superintendent’s boxes

            Update county fair news releases

            Update 4-H files

            Learn county fair computer program for data entry

            Assist with summer programs

            Anything else needed to get/stay organized for ISU programming

Qualifications

 High school graduate

 Knowledgeable and supportive of total ISU Extension program

Ability to relate, respect, and appreciate volunteers

People-oriented, skilled in customer relations

Willing to cooperate as a team player

Good verbal and written communication skills

Computer skills

Organizational skills

Ability to work on multi-tasks simultaneously and problem-solving skills

Self-starter – able to initiate work, without direct supervision
