Okta is a new ISU application designed to handle what's called Identity Management. In its simplest form it's a new way to sign into ISU resources using the same Net-ID and password you've used all along.
Okta is going to change the look and feel of the login page when you sign into MyExtension, Office 365, CyBox and other Iowa State and ISU Extension and Outreach resources. Okta also gives you the ability to add (at a later date) something called multi-factor authentication to your account. Multi-factor authentication adds protection to your account by requiring a second verification in addition to your password.
With multi-factor authentication, when you log in, you'll not only type your password but you'll be asked to verify your access via an app on your phone or to type in a unique code.
