RE-ENROLLMENT:

 
Re-enrollment happens once every 4-H year for 4-H members that were enrolled the previous year.  Members may re-enroll anytime between October 1st and May 15th.  Those who enroll by December 1st receive any available county assistance toward enrollment fees.  If you have any questions or profile login problems, please contact the Extension Office at (563)547-3001.

AWARDS

 
AWARD APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
All record-book awards must be completed and turned in by the designated date (September 1 or the next business day after September 1).  All materials must be turned in together and the award application form must be completed and turned in with record book.  Those senior 4-Hers applying for overall senior achievement awards must complete the required interview for consideration.

 COUNTY 4-H COUNCIL

Those current 4-H youth interested in participating on the County 4-H Council must apply and complete the required interview.  Those eligible to apply are those youth who are currently in grade 8th-11th and will be in grade 9th-12th during the next school year.  The County 4-H Council is a leadership council that assists in planning and implementation of county events held throughout the 4-H year.  Those who complete the application process will be scheduled for an interview in May and receive a letter with their scheduled interview time.
 

4-H AWARDS AND RECORD-KEEPING

 YQCA

YQCA training is required for any youth planning on exhibiting any type of animal at the Mighty Howard County fair.  YQCA training is done virtually on the computer and costs $12 per youth.  Once the youth has completed the training they are required to turn in a copy of their ceritification to the Extension Office which provides documentation that they have completed the training for showing at the fair.

A virtual celebration of 4-H exhibits, Communication events, and Awardrobe Clothing Selection was held for 4-H members across the state.  This opportunity provided state level recognition to partially replace the loss of these opportunities due to the postponement of the 2020 Iowa State Fair.  We are proud to announce the participants from Howard County.

Craig and Flossie Morrison

Craig and Flossie Morrison will be inducted into the 4H Hall of Fame in a virtual ceremony on August 23, 2020.

June 25, 2020

Due to Covid 19- 4-H Spring Fair was postponed many times.  It was finally able to be held on Zoom on Tuesday, June 23, 2020

2020 Howard County Fair Projects
June 22, 2020

The 2020 Howard County 4H projects were judged on June 22, 2020 in the new Drive and Drop method due to Covid 19.  Projects were dropped off at the Expo on Saturday and then judges came in on Monday, June 22 and judged.  Due to safety of the 4H members and the judges, this method of judging is something new a lot of fair are implementing this year.

The 2019 4-H Awards program was held on November 10, 2019 honoring 4-H members and leaders and others for accomplishments during the past 4-H year.
