Fun and adventure in one endless summer, what more could you ask for?   Listed below is our lineup of 41 Summer Explorations (with multiple locations offered) designed for hands-on educational learning for all ages of youth.  You must use the registration form (found below) to sign up for events.

Who: 5 - 12 (grade just completing)
What: Students will arrive at Stellar Industries and start with hands-on learning with current manufacturing technologies.  Participants will get to operate Stellar cranes with remotes.
Where: Stellar Industries, 380 West 3rd St., Garner

What: Learn basic mechanics working on a UTV from a local mechanic and race car driver.  Mechanics need to know how to check oil, change a tire, and basic care.

What: Explore the world of shading and 2D art with a local artist.

What: Learn about the process of yarn production and weave your way into fun making unique coasters.

Who: K - 3 grades (grade just completing)
What: Learn what you can eat and can’t eat from the wild.  What is in lake water and how can you make it safe to drink?  Work within a group to make a shelter.  Grill your own supper over the fire.  Parents welcome.

What: Go behind the scenes of banking. How does a Bank work?  What do Bankers do?  How do Banks help people?  Learn how to build better money habits.

What: Try your hand at making a tasteful, healthy, and simple after school snack for friends, siblings, or even yourself.  We will be making 4 variations and learning nutritional facts about the ingredients used. *Recipes may contain peanut butter.

What: Come learn more about 3D printing and design a small plant holder using our software and printers.

What: How does lighting affect your pictures? Use a photo light box and design the perfect picture.

What: Learn to weld while building a horseshoe boot rack. Have an exhibit to show at the fair and a way to keep boots neat and tidy.

What: Make a fun game to play with your friends and family. Learn how to use a band saw, skill saw, nail gun, and table saw.

What: Sew your very own quiet book out of fabric. Work with different textured fabrics and mediums to create a book that will keep younger siblings, friends, cousins, or yourself entertained for hours.

What: Explore the wonderful world of wetlands and the importance of these vibrant ecosystems and the biodiversity they support! Students are transported to a wet land through audio and visual means and interactive games.

What: Discover 100 species of living arthropods, on display in your own space! Knowledgeable Insect Zoo staff will talk about why our multi-legged friends are important for a healthy Earth, how you can help them in your own outdoor spaces, and how you can Spread the Bug Love! Many hands-on opportunities to handle millipedes, beetles, walking sticks and more!

What: Create your own flower arrangements while you learn how to exhibit flowers at the fair.  Ellen Tusha will be teaching us how to arrange cut flowers in vases.  Take home your beautiful arrangement.

What: Interested in becoming a cosmologist, practicing massage therapy, or even an esthetics? Join us for an afternoon at La’James College and see what this profession is all about.  We will even get a little pampering ourselves.

What: Our annual field trip stops first to see how show goats are raised and cared for.  Then we will stop at Nedved dairy, where we can see robots at work cleaning the barns and milking the cows.  At our last stop we will meet some puppies, learn about the jobs horses do, and see how to raise and care for chickens.
