March 26, 2020

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic sheep and meat goat weigh-ins are CANCELED.  Rabbit Tattooing will take place at a later date and Poultry Pullorum Testing is WAIVED for the 2020 Fair season. The May 15th livestock ID deadline is extended to June 1st. We will follow-up with more information in the next week and address what these changes will look like in Greene County. Please see below the email from Dr. Debbie Nistler, Iowa 4-H Program Leader. March 16, 2020

All ISU Greene County Extension programs now through the end of March have been canceled due to the COVID-19 virus.  “Keeping our constituents and staff well and safe is our top priority” stated Lori Mannel, Greene County Extension Director.

December 10, 2019

The Greene County Godzillas LEGO League team competed at the Regional Iowa FIRST LEGO League Qualifer in Glidden on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Team members are 5th-8th graders enrolled at Greene County Community School District. Participants include Aden Bardole, Nehemiah Hoyt, Gavin VanderLinden and Lucy VanderLinden. Coaches are Jason Smith and Wendy VanderLinden.

December 5, 2019

On Sunday, October 27 at the Churdan Library. A crowd of over 50 people attended to see Greene County 4-H members, as well as 4-H volunteers and financial sponsors, recognized during the annual Greene County 4-H Awards Ceremony. Record books submitted by 4-H’ers were judged by volunteers who decided on the final awards, recognizing outstanding record books and excellence in project work over the past year.

December 4, 2019

Youth will make a t-shirt pillow and learn how to construct a quilt block, use a sewing machine and much more! Each participant will also be completing the 2020 Greene County Fair Goal Card for this project!
