Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will hold five one-day Blended Human Food PCQI courses in 2020. The courses are presented by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance. The course is the only PCQI class recognized by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The course will be held:

April 24, 2020
June 11, 2020
July 10, 2020
September 14, 2020
December 7, 2020

The courses satisfy the second part of the PCQI training, with both parts of the training required to receive PCQI certification. A more detailed explanation from FSPCA on the course can be found online.

Registration for Part 2 of the course can be competed online. Early registration cost for the training is $250, which jumps to $350, 31 days before the class.

Kimberly Anderson, project manager with the Center for Industrial Research and Service at Iowa State and ISU Extension and Outreach, will lead the training. Anderson is a former FDA investigator and also has experience in private industry.

Those who wish to attend the training are required to complete the first part of the PCQI training in advance. Part 1 training can be completed online through the FSPCA website. Successful completion of both parts of the training are required for certification.

Those wishing to receive certification can sign up for the second part before completing the first, but the first part must be completed before attending part two of the training. Those registered for Part 2 can ask instructors questions and for advice before or while taking Part 1.
