Babysitting Class Scheduled for December 8, 2018

Fremont County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be offering a Babysitting Class December 8 at the Extension Office in Sidney.  It is open to all youth ages 11 and up.

Mandy Maher, Program Coordinator for Fremont County Extension & Outreach, and Heidi Lowthorp, Parent Educator for Growing Strong Families, will be teaching the course, with help from special guest speakers.

The course will run from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Throughout the day, participants will learn about child development, safety, food & nutrition, business management, first aid and more, all in preparation for being a great babysitter!

The cost for this fun and interactive course is $30.  Fees will be used to off-set direct expenses, including curriculum materials, lunch and snacks, and to support the Fremont County ISU Extension Program.  In an effort to make this program available to everyone, scholarships are available as needed.  Pre-registration is required by Thursday, November 29 at 4:30 p.m.  Late registrations will not be allowed and at least 10 paid registrations must be received in order to hold the class.

Registration forms will be available at Fremont County schools and can be downloaded below.  For more information, email mmaher@iastate.edu or call the Extension Office at (712) 374-2351.
