YQCA is REQUIRED ANNUALLY for any youth in grades 4-12 exhibiting swine, cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits or poultry.  The training promotes the development of a common framework for youth livestock quality assurance programs that will enhance the educational experience of youth, improve the care of animals, and provide a highter level of food safety to consumers.  Face-to-face trainings will be provided this spring and summer, but youth can also choose to certify online at www.yqca.org.

4-H & FFA Premium Sale

The Fremont County 4-H & FFA Premium Sale will be held virtually as a timed online auction at https://bid.dreamdirt.com/. Bidding will be open from July 13th until 8 pm on Monday July 20th!

To place a bid, you will first need to register at dreamdirt.com. A credit card will be required for registration, but will not be charged. An activation link will be sent to your email. If you need any assistance, contact Rachel Hoy at 515-954-8063.
Extension is required to issue a 1099 tax form to anyone, including youth, who receives payments totaling $600 or more.  This is likely to impact some exhibitors who participate in the Premium Sale.  Please note that you will be contacted for the necessary information as needed.
The online Premium Sale is LIVE until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 20.

4-H, FFA & Clover Kids Static Exhibits

Exhibits will be dropped off on Monday, July 13.  The Drop Off Schedule can be downloaded HERE.
Perishable entries (Food & Nutrition, Horticulture, cake decorating, etc) will be judged on Monday, July 13.  Other static entries will be judged on Wednesday, July 16.  Buildings will be securely locked and climate-controlled.  Static exhibits will be released on Sunday, July 19, time to be determined.
Write-ups are not required for Clover Kids, but a brief explanation may be helpful.  For 4-H members, the write-up will be critical to the judge's understanding of the project.

Food entries deserve special consideration. Use these guidelines to help select an acceptable product for exhibit, find an approved recipe source, and identfy the appropriate preparation method.  Download Food for Iowa 4-H Fairs.
Exhibitors can enter up to 6 photos.  Each photo requires a PHOTOGRAPHY LABEL.  Only one Write-Up Form is required for the project area.  Photo mats are available for purchase at the Fremont County Extension Office.  4x6 = $1; 5x7 and 8x10 = $2
The Fremont County 4-H Youth Committee has decided to incorporate a theme into this year's static exhibits.  Participants are encouraged to bring projects that relate to the theme: PIGS!  Ideas include a pig-themed cake, pig fabric in a sewing project, a pig painting or a welded pig.  Participation is TOTALLY optional, but special ribbons will be awarded for qualifying projects!
Need inspiration for exhibits?  Find them here!  Hot sheets for each project area are especially helpful.
