 For the 76th consecutive year, millions of youth, parents, volunteers and alumni across the country will celebrate National 4-H Weekfrom October 7-13. This year's theme, Inspire Kids to Do, is a campaign that will give kids more opportunities to do, empowering them with the skills they need to succeed in life and career.

The 4-H program will be hosting a 4-H Family Harvest Party on Sunday, October 14 at the NE Research Farm/Borlaug Learning Center near Nashua from 5-7 pm.  Members who attend the party will receive for re-enrolling that night a $20 discount.  New members who attend that night will recieve free enrollment.

Caregiving involves more than just medical problems. Helping your loved one manage his or her finances can ensure that he or she will be able to pay for needed care and live more comfortably.

Family caregiving can have a big impact on a family’s finances and on the family caregiver’s ability to work and retire. Although financial resources are sometimes limited, there are a variety of resources available to help caregivers in financial need.

 Congratulations to Bill Mead for being selected as the 2018 Floyd County Hall of Fame recipient.  He was honored at the Floyd County Fair.  We thank Bill  for all the years of service he has volunteered in support of the Floyd County 4-H program.

Four officers were elected during the Floyd County Extension Council organizational meeting January 4th.  The council is the county governing body of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
