This past week the Region 1 Interns helped the Little Hands Childcare and Preschool plant their own raised bed garden. Margaret Murphy was there to lead and explain what was going to happen to the kids. She talked about what plants need to grow and how they were going to take care of the garden. The garden consists of a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers. The kids were very excited to get their hands dirty!
Join Amanda Minter from Country Boutique in Rock Rapids as she shows us how to make beautiful floral arrangements using flowers and other items from the yard and garden.
Participants need to bring a container/vase for their creation, and are encouraged to bring snips from their own yard and garden to use in their arrangement.
Tools and some flowers from the ISU Home Demonstration Garden, as well as other materials will be available to participants.
