Okoboji Bike-N-BiteSPIRIT LAKE, Iowa – Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach invites area residents, families, bikers and local food enthusiasts to register and participate in the First Annual Okoboji Bike-n-Bite scheduled for June 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Bike-n-Bite is a community bike event that celebrates healthy living and local food in and around Okoboji. The event will start and end at the Lakes Area Farmers Market at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds in Spirit Lake.

Cycling participants will be sent on a food tour throughout the area, biking and biting into free samples of locally-grown food prepared by participating area restaurants, vendors and other organizations. The biking route will be approximately 17 miles.

Registration is $10 per person, and children 12 and under are welcome to attend with their parents/guardians for free. The first 100 paid registered adults will receive a commemorative Okoboji Bike-n-Bite T-shirt. Registrants will also receive a wristband and map of all bite locations.
