Region 5 update July, 24, 2017 Hello readers, hopefully you’re all staying cool in this heat! Emily here for an update from Region 5! It’s been a busy past couple of weeks, as the end of our summer is drawing near. This week we kept busy working our final papers and presentation to the Dean’s, traveling to Onawa for the Monona Council meeting, holding the second session of our Kids in the Kitchen camp, and prepare for the Woodbury 100 year tailgate. |

Happy Friday! July, 7, 2017 Happy Friday, Emily here :) The region 5 interns had a short week due to the 4th of July Holiday, but one filled with fun! On Wednesday I (Emily) started preparing for the filming of my Food Short videos emphasizing local foods. I met with Renee Sweers, Human Sciences Specialist of Nutrition and Wellness, to go over the recipes being featured in the videos. For my videos I wanted to highlight how local foods can be used in easy, tasty and most importantly healthy recipes! To find the recipes I used the Spend Smart Eat Smart mobile app and website.
