What gets you out of bed in the morning?

The sun in the summer and coffee in the winter.

How would you describe your job to a child?

I get to help farmers make more money!

What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?

Raising a strong, compassionate daughter.

What does a typical day look like for you? What are you currently working on?

I am either in the office or in the field developing enterprise budgets for edible horticulture crop farms.

What are your biggest professional challenges?

My biggest professional challenge is trying to understand why Farm, Food and Enterprise Development isn’t the most well-funded program at ISU.

What three words would you use to describe your role?

[Farm] efficiency, productivity and profitability

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?

What do you like most about your job?

Supporting the farmers who are most undervalued and necessary for our rural economy and providing healthy food.
