Our work
We focus our work on four main strategies:
Community Development
Raising awareness of local food systems opportunities and building capacity for food systems professionals, or community members.
Economic Development
Raising awareness of local food systems opportunities and building capacity for food systems professionals, organizations, and projects. Assisting individuals, businesses, and organizations to make informed decisions about developing sustainable food businesses, through technical assistance and educational programs.
Beginning Farmers
Increasing the number of beginning farmers growing food for Iowa and developing support for beginning farmers.
Evaluation
Systematically gather information (data) on the context, processes, and outcomes of local food system work to inform the decisions and actions of partners to effectively support and evaluate their own work and the food systems work of others.
