Our Food Systems Short Courses are self-paced, online modules that focus on individual skill-building and learning. Each course is delivered virtually through online modules, housed on the online learning platform, Moodle. 

Mapping 101

Mapping 101 teaches practices for how to create maps for decision making through a free online open-source geographic information system, QGIS. The course walks through various elements of data identification and creating place-based mapping and visualization for decision making. The modules provide presentations, readings and activities that are completed individually. Participants will receive a certificate of completion in Mapping 101.

Intro to Design Thinking

Intro to Design Thinking teaches methods and practices for site observation, considerations for creative techniques for project development related to design of food systems. The online modules provide presentations, readings, and activities that are completed individually. Participants will receive a certificate of completion in Intro to Design Thinking.
