CFS annual event registration extended to Feb. 10
We’re giving you a little more time to register for the 7th ISU Community Food Systems Annual Event on Feb. 12! You now have until end of day Wednesday, Feb 10 to get in on this virtual event. Cost is $20.
This year’s event will focus on Retail and Leadership Within Community Food Systems. Our morning keynote panel includes three food business entrepreneurs: Todd Manly of Mutiny Island Vodka and Karla Fennessy of Quality Food (St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) and Taufeek Shah of Lola’s Fine Hot Sauces (Des Moines). Learn more about them in the program.
Breakout sessions at 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. will cover three topics: business and organizational tools, community food access and minority-owned business strategies. Presenters include:
- Aubrey Alvarez of Eat Greater Des Moines,
- Kamyar Enshayan of the Center for Energy and Environmental Education at UNI,
- Anuj Mittal of Dunwoody College of Technology, and more.
Our closing session features ISU FFED food systems team lead Courtney Long, who will introduce the newly created Food Systems Practitioner and Education Resource Database.
