5th Community Food Systems annual event is Jan. 9-10, 2020
Anyone engaged in food systems development nationwide is invited to attend the 5th Community Food Systems annual event, January 9-10, 2020. Registration is now open!
The 2020 theme is “Food Entrepreneurship and Inclusive Partnerships.” If you are engaged in local food systems, we invite you to participate to enhance our collective involvement in this work.
The Community Food Systems annual event highlights best practices around the nation within all areas of community food systems. Community Food Systems is a joint program of FFED and the Community and Economic Development Program of ISU Extension and Outreach.
The community food systems event on January 10 will feature keynotes, open space, breakouts and poster session presentations. Two pre-conference workshops will take place January 9: a Local Food Leader workshop, and a Business Model Canvas workshop.
Costs are: $60 for the Jan. 10 event before Dec. 9, $75 after, and $30 for Local Food Leader workshop. There is no fee for the Business Model Canvas workshop.
County extension staff will find the Local Food Leader workshop helpful in any local food, farm to school, or similar work they do. We encourage extension staff to sign up for this unique professional development opportunity!
Group rates for this event at the West Des Moines Marriott are available through December 18.
Sponsor exhibit space is available through December 20 on a first-come, first-served basis.
