Taking place in early April each year, the Horse Fair is a perennial favorite throughout the Iowa equine community as it offers a perfect end to the cabin fever brought on by a typical Iowa winter. Many consider it to be the grand opening to the new season of horse events. Everyone considers it a perfect excuse to be among like-minded horse people.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Women in Ag program is holding Women Managing Horses beginning Thursday, November 14, 2019 in Clarion, Iowa and continuing Nov. 21, Nov. 18, Dec. 5 and Dec.12. Classes are 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a light meal served at 5:30 p.m. The classes will be held at Wright County Extension Office, 210 1st St SW, Clarion, Iowa. Cost is $75.
Clarion, Iowa- Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is proud to present a horse pasture management program that will be held at the Hancock County Extension and Outreach office in Garner. This program is for horse owners who are interested in improving their pastures. Topics will include identifying your pasture goals, creating reasonable expectations, how to maintain existing and or establishing a new pasture and grazing management strategies.
This is a residential, overnight equine camp open to boys and girls in grades 4-12. Campers will bring their horse to camp and participate in a variety of activities.
Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners presents a community lecture for adults, students and youth interested in horses. The day covers equine emergencies, equine dentistry and ophthalmology.
The American Horse Council (AHC) will host its 1st Quarter 2018 webinar on Monday, February 12th at 3:00 pm ET and will address the recent Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Mandate that has caused much confusion and a lot of questions throughout the equine industry.
Thinking about getting a horse or need a refresher on horse care? This class will be hands on with the horses at the ARL's Kruidenier Second Chance Ranch. Participants will learn about horse behavior, care, grooming, and ground work techniques. The class is limited in size, so sign up soon!

The Iowa Small Farms Conference is an event for people excited to learn more about opportunities with small acreage and ways they can make income on their land or improve their rural lifestyle.
The conference opens with a keynote address followed by concurrent sessions with workshops on a wide variety of topics. A trade show will allow attendees to network with companies and organizations supporting small farms.
On November 14th, 2017 Michigan State University veterinarian Dr. Stephanie Valberg will present a webinar explaining Polysaccharide storage myopathy (PSSM) a muscle disease in horses. The FREE webinar will take place at 7 pm EDT and is sponsored by My Horse University, an online horse management program, based out of Michigan State University Extension.
