  • American Horse Publications
  • American Paint Horse Association - Internships in the performance department, marketing/sales, or publications.
  • American Youth Horse Council - Internships provide tasks and engagements of national importance, resulting in elevated resume-building and national networking. We offer a fully remote, flexible schedule and hours with a minimum of three hours per week. The interns will report directly to the AYHC Executive Director and collaborate with various AYHC committees. Applicants should have good written and verbal communication skills, a passion for technical and creative writing, excellent attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
  • Camp Wa-Klo  (Jaffrey, NH) - Camp Wa-Klo is an all-girls summer camp located in the beautiful southwest region of New Hampshire. At Wa-Klo, we have a well-rounded equitation program with trail riding, horsemanship, jumping, gymkhana, and horse shows.
  • Camp War Eagle (Rogers, AR) - The Camp War Eagle wrangler position is designed for those who love working with horses and children and who have a strong work ethic. Camp War Eagle is a Christian sports, adventure, and recreation summer camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 17 located on the shores of Beaver lake.
  • Cargill - You will learn about Cargill and the career opportunities available in your career area and further develop your talents. Because you’re faced with challenging projects and the chance to interact with various Cargill employees and business partners, this is a valuable, real-world work experience. Internships are typically 12 weeks in duration. Co-ops usually last an entire semester.
  • Carlisle Academy Integrative Equine Therapy & Sports (Lyman, ME) - Exploring equine-assisted activities and therapies. These interns undergo supervised practical training in physical and occupational therapy, health and human services, or exposure to therapeutic riding.
  • Char-O-Lot Ranch (Myakka City, FL) - Char-O-Lot Ranch is a highly successful Appaloosa breeding, showing, and training facility known worldwide for raising, training, selling, and showing national and world champion Appaloosa horses, specializing in halter, western pleasure, hunter under saddle and all-around horses.
  • Colorado State University Equine Breeding Farm Internship - CSU Equine Reproduction Laboratory offers a unique Equine Breeding Farm Internship Program. The program provides advanced training in equine breeding farm procedures and management for individuals who sincerely desire to pursue a career in the industry.
  • Cornerstone Horsemanship (Reva, VI) - The Internship Program at Cornerstone is for students looking to learn more about the horse industry, cow horses, and training versatility ranch horses.  There is an emphasis on starting horses under saddle and advanced horsemanship for all disciplines.
  • Cranhill Ranch (Rodney, MI) - CranHill is Michigan’s choice campground, Christian summer camp and retreat center focused on building relationships, strengthening families, and transforming lives into the image of Christ.
  • Days End Farm Horse Rescue (Woodbine, MD) - Offers a variety of internship opportunities designed to give participants insight into the operations of a horse rescue. Internships are available in several departments, including Equine Programs, Education Programs, & Outreach Programs.
  • Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center (Las Vegas, NV) - Applicants must be graduates of a veterinary technology program or equine, animal science, or pre-veterinary bachelor’s degree program with basic horse husbandry skills and be available to work full-time for the six-month duration of the internship. Extensive orientation to focus on practical skillset development needed to progress in a fast-paced equine veterinary clinic setting. Become familiar with commonly used medical terminology and record-keeping and learn to set up for and assist with various medical procedures.
  • Djbar Ranch (Montana) - Located in the beautiful Gallatin Valley, surrounded by the Gallatin Mountains, Bridger Mountains, and the Tobacco Root Mountains. Internships include but are not limited to foaling, training, breeding, and hunting.
  • Disney International Programs - Internship in Animals, Science, and Environment, you'll be responsible for the care and welfare of animals across our properties.
  • Dude Rancher's Association (various locations) - 100+ ranches across the west and southwest offer internships or summer work
  • Eagle Mount (Bozeman, Montana) - Internship in Equine Science and Therapeutic Riding/Equine Assisted Activities
  • Forrest Hill Farm (Lafayette, IN) - Individuals who want to gain the experience, knowledge, and skills necessary to successfully work and/or seriously compete within the various facets of the equine industry, emphasizing dressage.  This program offers the opportunity to increase knowledge, improve riding/training skills and acquire first-hand experience in herd health, nutrition, reproduction, veterinary care, management, marketing & sales.
  • Four Sixes Ranch(Texas) - Reproduction, foaling, doctoring, vaccinations, and sale prep of horses. Breeding/foaling attendant internship and sales prep technician internship are available.
  • Friesians of Majesty (Townshend, VT) - The largest Friesian breeding farm in the United States and the only farm of its kind in Vermont to offer unique equine experiences for the horse enthusiast: Horse sales, Breeding, Camps, Training, Riding lessons, Driving lessons, Performances, Getaways, Horse drawn limousine services, and Carriage/sleigh rides.
  • Godolphin Flying Start - Individuals seeking to develop excellent management and leadership training and a career in the thoroughbred horse racing industry
  • GumZ Farms (Morganfield, KY) - Gain experience in the breeding industry, artificial insemination, foaling, embryo transfer, semen packaging & freezing, weanling & yearling handling
  • Gunston Hall Farm (Lexington, KY) - Gunston Hall Farm offers a labor-intensive student training program designed for individuals serious about a career in the horse industry. Unlike university-based programs, training at Gunston Hall Farm is practical, as it provides students with a hands-on approach to horse breeding and care. Specifically, students learn about foaling, foal care, breeding, feeding, weaning, sales preparation, and all the essential aspects that involve a full-service thoroughbred operation. Students who have some horsemanship are preferred. Gunston Hall Farm offers internships for students twice yearly; once during the spring breeding and foaling season and once during the summer and fall sales.
  • Hagyard Equine Medical Institute (Lexington, KY) - Expand their general knowledge of equine veterinary medicine.
  • Hidden Valley Camp (Freedom, Maine) - Located in coastal Maine, our co-ed summer sleep-away camp features distinctive programs for girls & boys ages 8 to 14. Depending on your interest, HVC is a visual arts camp, a horse camp, an adventure camp, a performing arts camp, a nature camp, a water camp, a sports camp and much more
  • Jockey Club Internship - Interns will gain exposure to all companies and departments within the organization and have the opportunity to spend additional time in areas they find to be of particular interest. The internships will occur in The Jockey Club's offices in Lexington, Ky., and New York, N.Y.
  • Kentucky Equine Management Internships (Lexington, KY) - Through the internship, students integrate academic studies with practical experience, leadership, and responsibility as a contributing participant on a Central Kentucky horse farm.
  • Kentucky Equine Research (Versailles, KY) - Kentucky Equine Research, Inc. is an equine nutrition, research, and consultation company serving both the horse producer and the feed industry.
  • Kentucky Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center (Versailles, KY) - We proudly offer two different internship programs: the Derby and Oaks. Please note both of these programs are UNPAID.  Interns are also responsible for their living expenses (food), insurance, VISAs if needed, and travel expenses. 
  • Kinsey Horsemanship (Belton, SC) - Learn natural horsemanship, dealing with horses in a natural herd setting. This is a beneficial program if you want to own your horse or if you want a solid foundation based on the principles of horse psychology.
  • Land O' Lakes Undergraduate Internships - Purina Interns do real work alongside our Purina Animal Nutrition team, learning and developing skills in sales and marketing, animal nutrition and husbandry, and more. 
  • Lazy E Ranch (OK) - Internships breeding attendant, foaling attendant, general horsemanship and sales prep technician
  • Lost Creek Ranch (Beldenville, WI) - For students looking to learn more about the horse industry, from barn management, training, and office/ support staff to community educational programming.  There is an emphasis on understanding equine language and advanced horsemanship for all disciplines.
  • McGinnis Meadows Cattle and Guest Ranch (Libby, Montana) - The Intern Program at MMGR is unique. The ONLY program specifically teaches the Buck Brannaman/Ray Hunt style of horsemanship in a ranch setting with real-world experience. Interns will be able to see a horse's progression in its learning from colt starting up to the snaffle bit, hackamore, and the two rein to straight up in the bridle. Interns will learn how we restart horses that are troubled and how we work through individual issues. Interns will ride different horses daily since each horse provides a different feel for its rider. With over 100 head of horses, there will be much to learn!
  • Painted Bar Stables (Burdett, NY) - A leader in the trail riding industry in the Finger Lakes Region, Painted Bar Stables is a 125-acre ranch and stable located on Seneca Lake in the beautiful Finger Lakes Wine Country. We maintain roughly 30 heads of well-trained and versatile trail and lesson horses, mares, babies, and our stallion. Internships will be catered to the interests and future goals of each intern. Focuses could include Equine Schooling and Training, Instruction and Lesson Planning, Tourism Industry and Client Care, Public Relations and Marketing, Breeding and Young Stock Handling, Veterinary Care, etc.
  • Peaceful Pastures (Hickman, TN) - Tailored to pre-vet, AHT, and animal science students. Peaceful Pasture is a direct market, all-natural, grass-fed meat business producing and selling beef, lamb, pork, chicken, and turkey. All species are pastured on the 2500 acres we own/ manage.
  • Peterson & Smith Equine Hospital Pre-Vet Equine Veterinary Internship (Summerfield, FL) - All services offered by the Equine Reproduction Center, including recipient herd management, mare and stallion management, foaling and neonatal care, embryo transfer, herd health management, as well as general health concerns of any horses at the Equine Reproduction Center.

  • Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital (Lexington, KY) - Six-month (January-June) technician internship. Positions are available in the ambulatory and hospital-based nursing staff departments.

  • Student Conservation Association - SCA provides opportunities for young people to positively impact the world around them. SCA provides lists of two-week to twelve-month internships available in national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, and urban green spaces across the United States

  • Tumbling River Ranch  (Grant, CO) - Guest ranch in central Colorado–only 62 miles southwest of Denver. Our ranch is in the Pike National Forest, adjacent to the Mount Evans wilderness area.
