Record Keeping's Purpose
The purpose of 4-H record keeping is to teach youth how to keep records of their 4-H career and provide them an opportunity to set goals, learn evaluation, and promote organization. Youth are encouraged to select a record keeping system that best suits their individual needs and learning styles.
Objectives for 4-H Record Keeping
- To learn how to set goals, how to make plans for action, and how to reflect on what you have experienced and learned
- To learn the skills of record keeping and organization to use now and in the future
- To learn to communicate and summarize
- To learn responsibility by completing a task
- To evaluate information that will market personal skills through future resumes and application forms
Record Keeping Forms
All 4-Her's are encouraged to participate in record keeping. Below is the recommended record keeping form that 4-Her's can use throughout the 4-H year.
The My 4-H Tracker is used by 4-Her's throughout each 4-H year that they are an active member. 4-Her's can add/edit what they participated in each month. 4-Her's can turn this form into the Emmet Extension Office by September 1st of each year. 4-Her's can attach photos, clippings/articles, and other items along with the My 4-H Tracker to share your 4-H story.
The My 4-H Tracker can be used in place of the previous record keeping books (yearly summary, evaluation forms, project worksheets, cover pages).
