YQCA Offered in Emmet County for 4-H'ers

Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a national multi-species quality assurance program for youth ages 8 to 21 with a focus on three core pillars: food safety, animal well-being, and character development.
 
4-H members who exhibit the following species — beef, goats, poultry, rabbits, sheep, swine — must be YQCA certified by JULY 1st.
 
YQCA Certification Options and Details:
Web-Based Training: Cost is $12, training is taken on youth’s own time
Web-based training help day will be June 18th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Youth that need assistance or don’t have access to a computer can complete the training at our office. Call the Extension office to reserve a spot.
 
Instructor-Led Training: Cost is FREE (thank you to the Emmet County 4-H Foundation)—contact the Extension office to receive a coupon code

  • April 19th — 9:00 to 10:30 am, First Presbyterian Church (Estherville)
  • June 18th — 9:00 to 10:30 am, First Presbyterian Church (Estherville)

 
Registration for Instructor-led Trainings is REQUIREDby the youth BEFORE the date of the training. If you need assistance with registering for an instructor-led or web-based training, please use the help sheet provided at the link below or contact the Extension Office.
