Yellow blend shrub. The large, long-pointed buds of dark Naples yellow (RHSCC 1 1A) open to double (20-30 petals), open, 4-4.5 inch blooms of Naples yellow (RHSCC 1 1 B) stippled with scarlet (RHSCC 43C). The colors lighten with age. The blooms are borne in clusters of 1 - 10 and have a sweet fragrance. The abundant, large, leathery to semi-glossy foliage is medium green and has good field tolerance to foliar disease. The small thorns are brown and awl-like. The erect plant is bushy and blooms from June until killing frost. Plants are winter-hardy in Iowa without protection.
