Pink blend shrub. The ovoid-pointed buds of cherry red (RHSCC 45C) heavily streaked with Guardsman red (RHSCC 45A)become urn-shaped before opening to double (25-35 petals), shallow-cupped, 4.5-5 inch blooms of Empire rose (RHSCC 50D) heavily tinted with orange and "freckles" with rose red (RHSCC 58B). The blooms are borne in clusters from 1-8 and have a sweet, raspberry-like fragrance. The mediumlarge, abundant foliage is dark olive green and leathery. The thorns are brown and awl-like. The erect, bushy, 3-4.5 ft plant is free-branching and blooms freely from early summer until killing frost. Plants are winter-hardy in Iowa without protection.
