Orange blend shrub. The ovoid-pointed to urn-shaped buds open to double (20-25 petals), shallow-cupped, open, 4-4.5 inch blooms of Mars orange (RHSCC 31 C) over a buttercup yellow (RHSCC 1 6C) base and becoming pale Orient pink (RHSCC 36B) with age. The blooms, borne singly and in clusters of 5-15, have a sweet fragrance. The abundant, leathery, medium-large foliage is dark green (RHSCC 147A) and glossy. The thorns are tan-green and awl-like. The upright, bushy plant is spreading and blooms abundantly from June until killing frost. Plants are winter-hardy in Iowa to 1 2-14" without protection.
