Light yellow shrub. The large, ovoid-pointed buds open to double (45-60 petals), cupped, 3.5-4 inch blooms of pale chrome yellow (RHSCC 158 C) tinted pale Orient pink (RHSCC 36C) which pale with age. The blooms have a green apple fragrance and are borne in clusters of 5-10. The abundant, leathery foliage is dark green. The thorns are brown and awl-like. The vigorous, bushy plant is erect and blooms from June until killing frost. Plants are winter-hardy in Iowa without protection.
