Light yellow shrub. The long-pointed buds of barium yellow (RHSCC I OA) open slowly to double (40-45 petals), imbricated, 4-4. 5 inch blooms of barium yellow which fade lighter with age. The color of the blooms remains clean. The blooms are borne in clusters of 1-15 and have a pleasingly sweet fragrance. The abundant, glossy foliage is medium dark green and leathery. The thorns are tan and awl-like. The bushy, 4 ft plant is upright and blooms from June until killing frost. Plants are winterhardy in Iowa without protection.
