Red blend shrub. The ovoid-pointed buds open to single (6-8 petals), flat, 2.5-3.5 inch blooms of cardinal red (RHSCC 53D) with a large white center. The blooms, borne singly and in clusters of 2-15, have a light old-rose fragrance. The abundant, medium-sized foliage is leathery and very dark green. The thorns are russet and awl-like. The bushy, 3.5-4 ft plant is erect and blooms continuously from early June until killing frost. Plants are winter-hardy in Iowa without protection.
