Medium pink shrub. the medium-sized, ovoid-pointed buds open to double (40-50 petals), high centered, 4-5 inch blooms of pale tyrian rose (RHSCC 66D) over a honeysuckle white (RHSCC 159D) ground. The blooms, borne singly or in clusters of 3-8, have a sweet fragrance. The medium-large, leathery foliage is woodpecker green (RHSCC 147A). The brown thorns are broad-based and needle-like. the bushy, erect plant (to 75 cm) blooms freely from early June to killing frost. The plants are winter-hardy in Iowa to 10-12" without protection.
