Commercial Pesticide Applicator Continuing Instruction scheduled for Oct.-Dec.

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dickinson County will host Continuing Instruction Courses (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators at their office located at the Fairgrounds (1600 15th Street) in Spirit Lake. The programs are provided by the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) and can be seen at office locations across Iowa.

  • Roadside, Forest and Aquatic Pest Management The Roadside, Forest and Aquatic Pest Management CIC will be held at 9:00 a.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 16. Registration fee is $35 on or before Oct. 9 and $45 after Oct. 9. The course will provide continuing instruction credits for commercial and public pesticide applicators certified in categories 2 (Forest Pest Control), 5 (Aquatic Pest Control), 6 (Right-of-Way Pest Control), and 10 (Research and Demonstration).
  • Mosquito and Public Health Pest Management The Mosquito and Public Health Pest Management CIC will be held at 9:00 a.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 24. Registration fee is $35 on or before Oct. 17 and $45 after Oct. 17. The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7D (Community Insect Management), 8 (Public Health Pest Control), and 10 (Research and Demonstration).
  • Ornamental and Turf Applicators The Ornamental and Turf Applicators CIC will be held at 9:00 a.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 13. Registration fee is $35 on or before Nov. 6 and $45 after Nov. 6. The course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 3O, 3T, 3OT, and 10.
  • Fumigation The Fumigation CIC will be held at 9:00 a.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m.on Nov. 19. Registration fee is $35 on or before Nov. 12 and $45 after Nov. 12. The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7C (Fumigation) and 10 (Research and Demonstration) and private pesticide applicators who are certified to apply fumigants.
  • Commercial Ag Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Management The Commercial Ag Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Management CIC will be held at 9:00 a.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 20. Registration fee is $35 on or before Nov. 13 and $45 after Nov. 13. The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 1A, 1B, 1C, and 10. Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in Soil and Water Management and Integrated Pest Management will be offered at this program. Interested participants should bring their CCA number.
  • Pest Control Operators The Pest Control Operators CIC will be held at 9:00 a.m. with registration at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 4. Registration fee is $60 on or before Nov. 27 and $70 after Nov. 27. The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7A (General Household Pest), 7B (Termite), 8 (Public Health), and 10 (Research and Demonstration).
