ISU Extension & Outreach Farm Management Specialist, Charles Brown is conducting farmland leasing meetings across the region in July and August. The discussion will focus on various methods to determine a fair 2022 cash rental rate and the importance of good tenant/landlord communications. In addition, a brief economic outlook will be presented along with a look at farmland prices.

The fifth annual Beef Feedlot Short Course, organized and hosted by the Iowa Beef Center at Iowa State University, is set for Aug. 3-5 at the Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center in Ames.

The 2021 Iowa Swine Day is back as an in-person event and organizers said they are excited to be able to offer a program of well-known speakers focused on important issues of the U.S. pork industry. The 10th annual event will be held on June 24 in the Scheman Building in the Iowa State Center on the Iowa State University campus. Similar to past events, the morning plenary session presentations will focus on current and future industry updates and perspectives.

Farm life can be stressful. Now, Midwestern farmers, ranchers and agricultural workers have direct access to a new tool to help manage stress, anxiety, depression or substance use issues.The newly launched website, farmstress.org, is aimed at providing the agricultural community with resources and support through the North Central Farm and Ranch Assistance Center.

The Feedlot Forum 2021 will be held June 29. The event focuses on issues critical to beef feedlot producers and cutting-edge technology available from agribusiness professionals.This year's theme is "Producing and Marketing in Today's Era," and  features nationally recognized speakers and their topics.
