Help Farmers Cope with Stress
Farming is one of the most stressful occupations in the United States, and this harvest farmers are dealing with many additional stressors such as weather and a significant decline in commodity prices. Although individuals involved in the agriculture industry may not verbally share when they are under financial or emotional stress, there are visual cues which can indicate they may be in need of support. These signs can be observed by family, friends, neighbors, farm suppliers and you.
We invite you to become familiar with the resources available from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and direct farm families and agricultural partners to them during times of stress.
