4-H Clover Kids


About 4-H Clover Kids

Clover Kids is 4-H for youth in kindergarten through third grade. The focus of this program is cooperative learning-- not competitive. This allows activities and fun to be tailored and age-appropriate. 

Club meetings

  • Clubs meet from September to May or June

  • Generally meet once per month for one to one and a half hours

  • Club meetings consist of activities in science, environment, creative arts, music, animals and food-- just to name a few

  • View 4-H Clover Kids clubs in Dallas County


  • $10 per year (Sept.-Aug.)

  • Enrollment is done through 4hOnline and opens up in September

***If you are new to 4-H, please contact Aleta Cochran at aleta@iastate.edu, Dallas County 4-H Clover Kids Coordinator, to be placed in a club or try out a few clubs. While some clubs are full and not accepting new members, often new clubs are forming!

  • Special workshops (ex. cake decorating, glass fusion, rocket building)

  • 4-H Clothing Event and 4-H Communications Day

County Fair 

  • During the Dallas County Fair, there is a special day to recognize Clover Kids. It is a time for them to show off their non-animal projects to judges in a supportive environment. There are also many fun and educational opportunities that day geared toward youth in K-3 grade. The 2020 Clover Kid Day is TBA

  • Clover Kids can participate in a bucket/bottle calf and bottle lamb/goat show including costume class, a pet show or new this year the rabbit show

  • Clover Kids can also participate in Share the Fun

  • Clover Kids are given participation ribbons at the fair. Colored ribbons are awarded beginning in 4th grade.
